Based in the village of Hope in the beautiful Peak District National Park, we offer a range of informal small group residential courses in a variety of subjects from art to navigation and hill skills, as well as bespoke courses to suit your needs. We are ideally located in the centre of the UK with easy access by road or rail from most parts of the country. Whether you would like to take one of our informal courses or just explore the Peak with a knowledgeable and experienced local guide you will be assured of a friendly welcome and a memorable experience.
Hope is the ideal location for visiting some of the most remote and beautiful parts of the Peak District. You will be very comfortable in the 16th century cottage accommodation, which is situated in the centre of this pretty village with its own secure parking and a short walk from the railway station with all the local amenities at hand, including several pubs.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed, friendly and informal environment with comfortable accommodation, good food and expert tuition. Most of our tutors, as well as being experts in their own field, also live and work in the Peak District so have a vast amount of local knowledge, enthusiasm and a great understanding of the area. Whether you want to improve existing skills or learn new ones, we believe it is crucial to provide the right learning environment, which is why all our tutors and guides are carefully selected for their experience and skill.
The Peak District is a very accessible and diverse landscape providing many opportunities for outdoor recreational and sports activities. Being the second busiest National Park in the world also means it has great pressures put upon it by tourism and other local industries. As a local business we are very conscious of our contribution to these pressures and our responsibilities to minimize our impact and conserve this area for future generations, after all this is our home. This is why we insist on small groups and always consider carefully the areas we use and its sensitivity at different times of the year.
